Happy New Year, all!
Rang in the New Year with my young manlets again – they’ve been with me every year since 2000, so this has really been a tradition for us. :) Had a bottle of champagne, my favorite – let them both have a taste. As usual, they both spit it out. LOL Luckily, I’d gotten them their own bottle of sparkling grape juice to go with my own. We watched the ball drop in the last few seconds & ran outside to watch the various fireworks everyone set off around the neighborhood. Otherwise, it was the round of phone calls, video games & playing with the K-nex sets that the youngest got for the holidays… and yeah, they are thrilled that Mom has let them cuss a bit now. he he he
Stitches update
Yep, forgot to mention – I have to deal with the stitches for 12 days, rather than the “usual” 7 days for stitches since they are on the palm of the hand. W00t. LOL Anyway, still no knitting due to the stitches… and no running due to the bronchitis. Hopefully I’ll be running again soon – tonight will be the second night of no Nyquil, so it’s getting better!! :)
Today’s Ravelry Search
So it’s a brand new year, YAY! Today’s search nets the following patterns…
You got me lost now…what is THAT in that video???LOL

Still so sorry about the stitches, I hope it heel fast, and you can knit again—soon!

LOL – the youngest got one K-Nex set (the Ball Machine) as a gift & loved it so much, he used money he’d gotten for another gift to go buy another K-Nex set (the thrill ride). Oh, and yes, that’s our back room (excuse the MESS) and that IS my voice! ;)
The shawl is lovely, isn’t it? It’s the Winter Blossom Shawl from the January 2009 issue of Yarn Forward.

Hehehe…. thanks, those “things” look..ummm…fun I guess… I never seen such a thing (except for a toy for kids where they can build a thing for dropping/rolling downs marbles…
Cool romm, and nice voice:-))) come to think of the fact that we never actually TALKED…

I *know*!! Once finances get on a better track, we should definitely talk on the phone once in a while! ;)
D is the manlet that loves to build things & take things apart to see how they work, so these sets are perfect for him. He’s had SO much fun with them!

I am still trying to find a toy that would enchant my boy…

D just turned 14 – H turns 16 here in 9 more days. (*sob*) They also make sets for younger kids as well – C just might like something like that, too?

Well for the moment it looks wayyy too complicated for him. Sometimes he can be like an elephant in a china-store…

He might do well with a smaller set, like this one. Really depends on if it hooks him into finishing it or not. H never had the patience to finish projects like these, but D definitely does! Each boy is different, of course. ;)
